Like the purpose of the first meet, this is to celebrate the return of Initial D and to show our support for the show.
For those that missed the first meet, this meet is about gathering as many Initial D replica cars together as possible. It is basically dedication for the show on display. In the last meet, we had Takumi's AE86 and Keisuke's FD3S (Alex), and also Bunta's GC8 (Rainer). We also had some really good attempts by some of you at replicating cars from the show.
From the experience of the first meet, we know that food was a problem. So we are going to get one or two food truck(s) to the meet. That should take care of the food and drink. Considering that it'll be the middle of the summer, temperature will be in the high 80s if not higher. We'll provide free bottled water like last time.
We are currently in the talk with the East Bay Regional Park District to have them rent us the entire East Section of the parking lot for us. We'll have over 150 parking spots, which should be plenty enough considering only 70 cars showed up in the first meet. And thanks to some of your inputs, we'll have T-shirts made for the event and possibly a small booth to showcase some of the merchandise.
Registration Page will be open soon and you can pay in advanced so you don't have to pay at the gate. If you have a Initial D replica, admission will be free. This is to encourage more people to bring their replica car to the event! However, we do not yet know how much the fee is. We'll let you know as soon as we finalize some details with the park.

Someone on the forums asked a good question: "Why did Ikeda want Rin Hojo (Shinigami) take that unfinished ramp?"
For those of you who understand kanji, the five big characters on top of the ramp reads 緊急退避所, which means "Emergency Evacuation Site." So, what exactly is that thing? It turns out it is a very common traffic device that enables vehicles that are having braking problems to safely stop. It is typically filled with sand or gravel with steep grade adjacent to the road. It is usually designed to accommodate large trucks, which is the reason why it is also called runaway truck ramp or escape ramp in some places here in the United States. The deep gravel allows the vehicle's momentum to be dissipated in a controlled and relatively harmless way, so the driver can stop it safely.
Some questioned the effectiveness of such a short ramp. Can it really stop the 650 hp R32 going all out downhill? Personally, I've seen these type of truck ramp when driving on the Interstate 5 here in California. They are usually located in mountainous areas like the Grapevine area. They stop big trucks easily, a mere 3000-lbs R32 would be a piece of cake for it to handle. Be sure to check out the youtube link below to see what I am talking about.
